Valentine’s Day 2012

Last year was our first Valentine’s Day together. Since we were just engaged and all lovey dovey, I planned a nice romantic dinner at home (and yes I was that engaged girl who kicked all of her roommates out of the apartment for the evening…)

I used the nice dishes, made a yummy chicken Alfredo lasagna and lit some candles. I even had tall glasses & sparkling grape juice for two.

Just as we were finishing dinner, there was a knock at the door. “Who would be coming over on Valentine’s?” I thought.

When I opened the door, much to my surprise, there were two LDS missionaries standing there!

They asked if they could come in, but it wasn’t until they stepped inside that they saw the decorated table and candles. That’s when things got real awkward…

“Ohh, uhhh…. are we interrupting something?”

Yea, sort of… “No, no, no it’s okay.”

“Ok, ummm…. we can come back later.”

“No, it’s fine.”

“Well, uhhh… we’re the missionaries and uhh… are you sure we’re not interrupting?”

Well, yes. But… “What can we do for you?”

And then we had a nice conversation about missionary work. I always love to see the missionaries! I just wasn’t expecting them to join us during our romantic dinner…
